This work has been inspired by Beverley's abode in Wales - on a sheep farm next to the Severn estuary. This land is dense with history and was once the grounds of a monastery. The seawall rocks above water level are covered with a golden yellow moss, and the rocks graduate in colour from gold to grey to light grey.
The work is part of a visual and musical project that Beverley
has been building for a period of years. It includes reworked versions of her favourite hymns, poems from Welsh poet RS Thomas, and several of her own compositions.
Beverley (known as Kitty for music related activities) performed at the 2016 RS Thomas poetry festival in Aberdaron, at St Hywyn's Church, where RS Thomas spent much of his life. She combined her own songs and musical ideas with poems of RS Thomas to create a tapestry of words and sounds, inspired by the countryside and Welsh life.
